Horizons ETFs Management is a financial services company that deals solely with exchange-traded funds (ETFs). It is the fourth largest ETFs provider in Canada. The company was founded in 2005, with headquarters in Toronto.
Horizons ETFs Management was formed in 2005 and launched its first ETF in 2007. There was no looking back from that point – the company continued to reap success over the years. It won the William F. Sharpe Award in 2012 and numerous Lipper Awards from 2012 to 2020.
In 2011, the company was acquired by Mirae Asset Global Investments based in Seoul. Since becoming part of Mirae, Horizons has gained global exposure for its ETF products.
Today, Horizons has $24 billion in assets under management across 107 funds.
Horizons ETFs Management offers a wide range of ETFs, including:
Education, accessibility, and innovation form the foundation of Horizons ETFs Management’s corporate culture.
The company believes that for Canadians to feel empowered, they should be educated to make the right financial decisions. Accessibility is needed to bring information and tools within their reach.
And innovation – well, that’s what ETFs and Horizons are all about. In 2017 alone, Horizons came up with groundbreaking ETFs like the first global robotics ETF and the first ETF driven by AI. This commitment to product innovation means more options for its clients.
Rohit Mehta joined Horizons as President and CEO in 2023. He has a solid 20-year career in asset management, which includes executive positions at prestigious firms such as First Asset, CI Financial Corp., and Guardian Capital LP. Under his leadership, First Asset grew its AUM from $3 billion to over $10 billion.
He brings that same innovative spirit to Horizons ETFs Management. He also intends to lead with his distinctive style of empowered leadership by encouraging transparency and collaboration.
Mehta graduated from Western University with an Honours BA (Economics). He also currently serves as a Board member of the Canadian ETF Association.
Horizons ETFs Management is committed to the future of the ETF industry in Canada. Through Mirae Asset Global Investments, Horizons continues to expand its global reach, bringing more investment options to markets beyond Canada. Sky’s the limit for Horizons ETF Management.
