Phillips, Hager & North Investment Services or PH&N is a key player in Canada's financial industry with over $6 billion in assets under administration. Its institutional arm, PH&N Institutional, is one of Canada’s most well-established institutional asset managers. PH&N has been a part of the RBC Global Asset Management group since 2008.
Phillips, Hager & North was established in 1964 by Art Phillips, Bob Hager, Rudy North and Richard Bradshaw, who are considered pioneers in Canada’s financial management industry. The company was founded on 3 principles: a conservative approach to investing, excellent client service, and a commitment to integrity.
In 2008, PH&N became part of RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM). This merger has allowed PH&N to tap into RBC's extensive resources while being true to its unique investment philosophy and client-focused approach.
Phillips, Hager & North offers a suite of investment products and services, such as:
Because PH&N is part of the RBC GAM umbrella, its investors can also benefit from low-cost mutual funds.
As a subsidiary of RBC GAM, Phillips, Hager & North espouses the same corporate values:
PH&N offers exceptional, impartial service. Its investment advisors don’t work on commission, so clients are assured that their interests come first.
Mark Neill is a certified financial planner and chartered financial analyst with over 25 years’ experience in asset management. He started his career with TD Asset Management (1994-2005) before joining Phillips, Hager & North as vice president in 2005. He has been the firm’s president since 2009.
Beyond his role at PH&N, Neill also serves as director at the Canadian ETF Association and a trustee at the Arts Umbrella Foundation.
Neill graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of Toronto in 1994.
Continued growth and innovation are in store for PH&N. It continues to leverage the resources and network of RBC GAM to deliver top-notch investment products to its clients. With a strong foundation and a forward-looking approach, PH&N is set to remain a significant player in Canada's financial services industry.
