The new portfolio will offer Fidelity Canada clients access to high-quality real estate assets managed by Brookfield
As demand grows for private market opportunities, Fidelity Investments Canada is responding by offering investors access to a new portfolio of high-quality real estate assets.
The portfolio will be invested in and managed by Brookfield Asset Management and will be allocated to several Fidelity Private Investment Pools with other potential options being considered.
The firm wants to bring a real estate strategy to market amid changes brought about by the changing rates environment and emerging hybrid economy.
The strong management of the portfolio together with the long-term potential for private real estate aims to provide investors with diversification, inflation protection, and capital appreciation potential.
The agreement with Brookfield will enable Fidelity Canada to broaden its alternative investments suite and enhance its existing strategies. As part of this, amendments have been filed with the regulators to allow certain strategies under the Fidelity Private Investment Program to invest in private real estate.

Brookfield has more than $825 billion of assets under management for clients and owns and operates real estate totalling around $270 billion AUM.
