Investors can expect access to a diversified equity portfolio, plus a new innovative thematic strategy
Fidelity Investments Canada, one of Canada's largest investment organizations, has expanded its product suite.
The firm has announced the launch of the Fidelity Global Equity Portfolio, as well as a corporate class variant, the Fidelity Global Equity Class Portfolio.
"With Fidelity Global Equity Portfolio, we are expanding choice and convenience for investors looking for a diversified equity solution. Managed by Fidelity's Global Asset Allocation Team, the portfolio is designed to offer equity exposure and long-term capital growth," said Kelly Creelman, Senior Vice President, Products and Marketing, Fidelity Investments Canada ULC.
The portfolio is well-balanced in terms of geography, market capitalization, and investment strategy. It provides a number of important advantages to investors, including:
- Access to Fidelity's portfolio managers
- Diversification across styles and regions
- Leveraging Fidelity's Global Asset Allocation Team and global resources
The portfolio, which will be managed by Global Asset Allocation portfolio managers Geoff Stein, David Wolf, and David Tulk, will strive for long-term capital development by using Fidelity's extensive investment skills and varied array of equities portfolio managers.
Geoff Stein is a portfolio manager at Fidelity Investments' Global Asset Allocation (GAA) group. He manages a number of multi-asset class mutual funds and sub-advisory accounts for U.S. and Canadian customers in this capacity.
David Wolf is a portfolio manager in the Global Asset Allocation (GAA) group at Fidelity Investments. In this role, he serves as portfolio co-manager for many multi-asset class strategies for Canadian investors.
David Tulk is a portfolio manager in the Global Asset Allocation (GAA) group at Fidelity Investments.
Fidelity Investments Canada has also introduced the Fidelity Total Metaverse Index ETF and the Fidelity Total Metaverse Index ETF Fund.
"Leveraging Fidelity's trusted investment expertise, vast global network and research capabilities, Fidelity Total Metaverse Index ETF will expand Fidelity's thematic investing line up and offer investors access to companies that may revolutionize the digital world," Creelman said.
Given that the metaverse could be the next generation of virtual experience, and so has the potential to play a large part in many facets of our life, it could be a good investment. Computing power, digital infrastructure, extended reality technologies such as VR and AR headsets, and digital payment processing may all play a role in preparing the way for the future.
The Fidelity Total Metaverse Index ETF and ETF Fund will give financial advisors and investors access to companies that are projected to drive the development of the metaverse's experiences, capabilities, and economy in one simple offering.
The strategy’s reference index targets a composition of 85% exposure to the metaverse category, and 15% to the digital payments and crypto industry category.
