The Pan Am Games were especially meaningful for one insurer, who had one of its customer service representatives perform during the opening ceremonies.
Ingle International’s Juanita Suarez performed at the 2015 Pan Am Games opening ceremonies on July 10 with her Colombian folk dance team, Cabildo. The group of eight were part of the 200 local folk dancers to be chosen to perform with Cirque Du Soleil.
The team was chosen back in December to participate, embarking on a tight schedule of 16 hours a week rehearsals, including four full days of rehearsals the week leading up to the event at the Pan Am Ceremonies venue (better known as the Rogers Centre).
After the event, the performers were treated to an after party with all the Cirque performers.
“Ingle International is proud to of its international staff and congratulates Juanita and her team on a job well done,” says Robin Ingle, chairman and CEO of the Ingle Group of Companies. “Ingle International feels right at home amongst the athletes, competitions, and fans; and not just because our head office is located in downtown Toronto, but because Ingle International has a long history of working with athletes for major and minor sporting events.”
Ingle International supported the 1994 World Basketball championships as well as the Jamaican bobsled team in the 1986 Winter Olympics.
“When I got the call from the Jamaican bobsled team manager, I thought, I grew up in Jamaica and I don’t remember seeing any snow,” says Ingle.
Ingle International is one of the few travel and health insurance companies specializing in sports coverage since 1946.
The company also supported the Special Olympics Team Canada with the necessary travel insurance and emergency assistance services at the 2013 World Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea.
