Companies team up to offer global benefits scheme and give access to healthcare around the world
With the number of Canadians living abroad rising rapidly over the last decade, a new partnership is aiming to ensure they get all of the insurance benefits they deserve.
The Empire Life Insurance Company has teamed up with MetLife Expatriate Benefits to administer its new Voyageur Global Benefits program for expatriate medical, disability, and life insurance.
With recent reports estimating that 2.8million Canadians are living abroad – to put that in context, if they were all living together in Canada they would collectively make up the fourth largest province in the country - it is hoped that the partnership will help bring local expertise around the world.

A key feature of this new suite of benefits is the MetLife Regional Service Centre model. Located in key areas around the world, this puts local resources closer to members while on assignment. Experienced staff will provide local expertise and understanding of regional differences, making it easier to obtain quality medical care, get services paid, and receive local support.
