The third largest reinsurer is entering Canada with customer focused solutions.
Hannover Re (Ireland) Limited received federal and provincial licensing to operate as a life and health reinsurer in Canada.
The branch, of a Member of Hannover Re Group, will offer mortality risk management; insurance based financial solutions; longevity; group life and special risk solutions to direct carriers in Canada.
Amhlaoibh Lynch was named general manager of the Canadian Life Branch, which will be based in Toronto, in a common location with Hannover Rück SE Canadian Branch (operating as P&C Branch in Canada since 1980).
“Consistent with the Hannover Re values and goals, you can expect customer focused solutions that are unique to the Canadian market and the characteristics of our partners,” said Lynch.
Prior to his appointment, Lynch was VP and CFO of Affinity Markets, Canadian Division for Manulife.
“When I was presented with the opportunity to lead Hannover Re’s entry into Canada, it was a 'no-brainer,' and I could not be happier to represent them,” said Lynch. “Since joining Hannover Re, I have been incredibly impressed by our global capabilities and client solution oriented approach, and I look forward to leveraging the global organization to bring new ideas and innovative solutions to the Canadian market.”
