Canadian consumers are being given access to lower prices for test strips
DarioHealth, a provider of mobile health and big data solutions based in Israel, has teamed up with Auto Control Medical and STI Technologies Limited to lower diabetes healthcare costs in Canada. Under the partnership, STI innoviCares cardholders will be eligible for additional savings on Dario diabetes testing supplies.
The innoviCares card is a free program that helps over 1.5 million Canadians save money on certain prescriptions and healthcare products. Like an insurance card, it can be used to cover part of the cost of many brand-name products. There are no eligibility requirements; according to STI, any Canadian is eligible for the program.
DarioHealth worked with its exclusive Canadian partner, Auto Control Medical, to forge a partnership with STI. innoviCares cardholders are now qualified to get $10 off the cost of Dario Blood Glucose Test Strips. They will also be provided with various smart options, such as setting refill reminders to help ensure they don’t run out.
The test strips, when used with the Dario Blood Glucose Monitoring System, let consumers track their blood glucose levels easily. Small enough to fit in someone’s pocket or purse, the monitoring system can be connected directly to a smartphone. It analyses the test strips and saves blood glucose information on the phone. Information can be collected easily over long periods, and can be shown to the patient’s doctor for easy reference. The records are also useful for patients to manage their own condition.
“In Canada alone, there are 11 million people living with diabetes or prediabetes, and DarioHealth is dedicated to provide them with excellent treatment for their diabetes management,” said Erez Raphael, chairman and CEO of DarioHealth.
