Two of the offerings are made possible through a new sub-advisory relationship
iA Clarington Investments has announced three new funds, as well as a new sub-advisory relationship with global asset manager PineBridge Investments, whose assets under management exceed US$85 billion.
“With its global footprint, local knowledge and deeply experienced, research-driven portfolio managers, PineBridge Investments is impressively positioned to deliver the income solutions many investors are looking for,” said Eric Frape, senior vice-president for product and investments at iA Clarington.
Under the newly forged relationship, PineBridge Investments is able to act as manager for two new funds that offer higher yield potential and reduced interest-rate risk compared to traditional fixed income.
The IA Clarington Emerging Markets Bond Fund invests in three main emerging-market classes: hard currency sovereign bonds, local currency sovereign bonds, and corporate bonds. Meanwhile, the IA Clarington Global Bond Fund invests in up to 16 fixed-income asset classes using an unconstrained, global approach.
"Global and emerging market fixed-income offer investors a diverse range of opportunities that can help them overcome the challenges posed by the low-yield, rising-interest-rate environment at home," said Michael Kelly, managing director and global head of multi-asset at PineBridge Investments.
Also launched was the IA Clarington Global Yield Opportunities Fund, which is managed by Clément Gignac, chief economist at iA Financial Group; and Tyler Mordy, president and chief investment officer of Forstrong Global Asset Management. The fund seeks consistent monthly income and capital growth by investing primarily in iA Clarington mutual funds, broadly diversifying across geographies and a range of income-oriented classes.
