Franklin Templeton has been named Mutual Fund Provider of the Year at the 2024 Wealth Professional Awards
Having been named as Mutual Fund Provider of the Year at the 2024 Wealth Professional Awards, Franklin Templeton is geared up for amazing things as we head into 2025. Speaking to WP, Dennis Tew, Head of Distribution and Business Strategy at Franklin Templeton Canada, said that the award carries deep significance on both a professional and personal level.
"To me, personally, it has been a validation of the courses of action and the strategies that we've taken. They've made an impact in the eyes of our clients and have been recognized, by the industry. It’s also wonderful to be achieving this success with my fellow colleagues. We work as a team. We win as a team. We regroup and come at it differently as a team. So personally, that’s been one of the highlights."
On a professional level, Tew sees the award as an important acknowledgment of Franklin Templeton's commitment to continuous improvement in order to better support our clients.
"It’s an important recognition of the work that Franklin Templeton Canada has undertaken to maintain a culture of excellence that is manifested by our people, how we partner with our clients to bring value to their business and of course our investment offering. It signals to the industry—and prospects —that Franklin Templeton is being recognized for the investments to be an asset manager of choice in Canada. At this point, we are being seen as best in class, and I think that’s terrific."
This recognition doesn’t just mark a milestone; it sets a foundation for future growth and inspires the organization to keep innovating.
“How does it impact our work? It confirms that we are on the right track, “Tew added. “Our solutions, thought leadership, educational programs and consultative approach with clients are clearly resonating. It helps us stay focused on the client, ensuring we bring them the best solutions to support them including our best-in-class investment capabilities from our various investment teams around the world.”
At Franklin Templeton, this forward-thinking mindset is not only internal but also deeply connected to industry-wide progress. Tew told WP that pushing for excellence across the financial services sector will ultimately create better outcomes for Canadians.
"Continuous improvement in our industry—all of the financial services firms continually pushing themselves to be better—will lead to better outcomes for Canadians. That’s the overall goal we’re working towards," he added. "The more we innovate, the better it should be for the industry as a whole. I think that’s a terrific outcome."
And, for aspiring professionals and organizations looking to achieve similar success, Tew explained that there are a few core principles which drive Franklin Templeton’s culture and overarching values system.
"We have four key core values that drives all that we do - Putting clients first, building relationships, achieve quality results and work with integrity. Our team keeps this at the forefront while interacting with clients and partners" Tew added.
Ultimately, the award represents much more than a trophy for Franklin Templeton—it’s a signal of progress, validation, and a challenge to continue striving for excellence.
"It’s as simple as that—thank you for the recognition, and we look forward to continuing to serve Canadians with the innovation, quality, and integrity they deserve,” concludes Tew.
