New recruit will join senior management team and assist Governor Stephen Poloz
There is a new senior advisor at the Bank of Canada.
Sheryl King has been named as a New York-based advisor for Governor Stephen Poloz. She will begin her role officially starting on July 5.
King has gained a host of experience in the financial services sector prior to this appointment. She had worked previously at the Bank of Canada for eight years as an economist and also within the financial markets department. In addition, she was managing director at Roubini Global Economics, as well as being strategist and chief economist at Merrill Lynch Canada.
Speaking in a statement about the appointment, Stephen Poloz commented about his enthusiasm that King had chosen to return to the Bank.
“I am delighted to welcome Sheryl King back to the Bank and to our senior management team,” he said. “Her extensive background in US economic and financial market analysis, together with her well-established professional network in New York and beyond, will benefit the Bank greatly.”
