US stocks ended Thursday lower following more disappointing date, this time on consumer spending; growth of 0.2 per cent in May – half what was expected. They did however recover somewhat from sharp early morning falls. Having been a week of weaker than predicted data, investors are tending to look elsewhere for opportunities, causing fluctuations, although overall US equities are faring well with near record levels being seen on the major indexes.
