David Lane, the leader of Edward Jones’ Canadian operations, is returning to the US in September to assume a new leadership role in the firm's Client Strategies Group.

Tim Kirley, a general partner with the firm since 1994, will assume leadership in Canada.

"We thank David for his dedication and the growth and success we have achieved in Canada under his management, and look forward to Tim's leadership going forward," said Jim Weddle, Edward Jones managing partner.

Under Lane's leadership, Edward Jones has enjoyed growth in Canada, and now employs nearly 2,000 associates in branch offices and at the home office in Mississauga.

Kirley, 61, joined Edward Jones in 1983 as a financial advisor in Michigan, a role he filled until relocating to the firm's St. Louis headquarters in 1994.

He has held a number of senior leadership roles, most recently leading the firm's five-year planning process and serving as chief strategy officer.

Lane, 51, was one of the firm's top-producing financial advisors after joining Edward Jones in 1987.

He moved to the US home office in St. Louis in 2006 and served in a variety of leadership roles before relocating to Canada.

Edward Jones is a full-service investment dealer with one of the largest branch networks in Canada.

Including its affiliate, Edward Jones serves nearly 7 million individual investors in Canada and the US from more than 12,000 locations.
