As the world awaits the much-anticipated meeting of the Fed’s monetary policy committee and a possible interest rate rise, sentiment has been higher so far.
Asian markets have closed mostly higher with expectation of Beijing adding further stimulus to China’s economy. Shanghai’s main index gained 5 per cent.
European indexes are also buoyant with gains for the major markets.
Toronto and New York are set to open fairly flat despite overnight gains for Wall Street’s futures.
The FOMC meets from today and will announce its decision on interest rates Thursday.
