The Gooding Band brings its Financial Literacy Tour to Western Canada. Will your clients’ high schoolers be going? They should be.
The Gooding Band brings its Financial Literacy Tour to Western Canada. Will your clients’ high schoolers be going? They should be.
Los Angeles-based four-piece band, Gooding, self-described as “Rock n’ Roll from the Plains,” is bringing its act to Western Canada in February. And it’s all for a good cause.
What exactly is the Financial Literacy Tour?
Using the power of a live rock performance as the backdrop, Gooding shares its own personal story of financial struggle with high school students across North America.
Inspiring young people through the lessons of finance and discipline, the band employs a multimedia presentation followed by a rock concert, finishing with a post-performance Q&A discussion with students that will leave them with bigger dreams and possibilities for their lives.
The tour makes stops in Victoria, Kelowna and Edmonton on Feb 23rd, 24th and 25th. The three-city visit is presented jointly by Gooding and its non-profit partner, Funding the Future, with corporate sponsorship generously provided by Raymond James’ Western Canadian business.
WP is a big proponent of financial literacy. So too, apparently, is Raymond James. Learned at a young age, basic financial concepts such as the “Rule of 72” and “compounding” can be the jumpstart children need to avoid many of the mistakes adults make when it comes to money.
Edmonton branch manager Don Howden said about the Financial Literacy Tour’s February visit to Edmonton: “Financial Literacy Rocks will provide kids with a very easy to learn lesson on the importance of planning for success as it relates to finances; a lesson that can save them from the more common and expensive experience of learning by making avoidable mistakes.”
For those advisors whose clients’ high school-aged children might be interested in attending, please contact Andrea Roworth at (250) 405-2488 or [email protected] for more information or to reserve seats.
