Newly created role was made to support long-term growth strategy
Global investment management and investment services leader BNY Mellon has named Jeff McCarthy as their new CEO of exchange traded funds. In this newly created position, McCarthy will be reporting to Frank LaSalla, CEO of BNY Mellon’s global structured products and alternative investment services.
“Jeff brings extensive experience in global exchange traded funds platforms and trading markets,” LaSalla said. “His deep knowledge and track record of results in developing and delivering on trade revenue expansion strategies for ETF's with a strong emphasis on delivering strong partnership solutions will play a critical role for BNY Mellon in serving a market that is likely to at least double in size over the next 10 years.”
McCarthy was most previously attached to NASDAQ as vice president and head of exchange traded product listings and trading; he led the strategy and business execution of the Nasdaq exchange traded product listing (ETP) and trading market. Before that, he acted as head of global ETF products and co-headed the ETF trading and investor services division in Asia Pacific for Citigroup. Earlier in his career, he created the global ETF service model of Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. as the firm’s global ETF product head.
In his capacity as CEO of exchange traded funds, McCarthy will lead and implement the long-term strategy toward growth in BNY Mellon’s ETF business.
