An iPad app used by American Airlines pilots grounded a number of flights on Tuesday night. The use of iPads was introduced in 2013 by the airline to cut down on the heavy and bulky manuals that were previously carried by pilots. The ‘electronic flight bags’ include information such as flight plans. The app that carries the information crashed Tuesday grounding a few dozen flights.
