Firm announces shift in leadership as it sets sights on accelerated growth in 2022
Manulife Securities is welcoming a new leader as part of a bold new strategic plan for growth.
Yesterday, Rick Annaert, who has led the firm as its President and CEO since 2005, shared the news of his retirement from the Manulife organization.
“Looking back, I am thankful for our advisors, their partnership, and for the privilege of working with some of the industry’s finest forward-looking, goals-based, holistic advice providers,” Annaert said in a heartfelt LinkedIn post. “I am also grateful to every member of the Manulife Securities team for all the hard work and the many sacrifices the teams have made to enable our wins.”
Recently, Manulife announced Richard McIntyre will succeed him as President and CEO of Manulife Securities effective today.
McIntyre joined Manulife Investment Management in February 2021 as Head of Sales, Manulife Securities. Over the course of his career spanning more than 25 years, McIntyre has led several key aspects of the wealth management industry, working with independent financial advisors in both Canada and the U.K.
“As President and CEO, Richard will play an integral role in prioritizing advisor experience in all aspects of our strategy,” Manulife said. In his new role, McIntyre will report to Leo Zerilli, Head of Manulife Investment Management in Canada.
In line with the shift in leadership, Manulife Investment Management revealed that it will focus on accelerating its growth in 2022, along with plans to implement a new advice model that would bring together its Manulife Securities, Manulife Private Wealth and PlanRight Advice businesses.
“We are changing the way we show up for our advisors,” McIntyre said. “This means doubling down on our commitment to be the industry’s best wealth management firm by sharpening our focus on ‘advisor experience’. I look forward to playing a bigger role in ensuring advisor experience is prioritized across key areas of our business.”
