Average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees were $942 in September, little changed from $939 the previous month. Compared with 12 months earlier, weekly earnings increased 3.4 per cent. The rather flat figures from Statistics Canada were at odds with previously released StatsCan Labour Force Survey figures showing a 74,000 gain in the month although today’s figures are considered more accurate due to data coming from the Revenue Agency.
