WP is looking for the best independent advisor office in the country. Is this you?
The big banks and insurance companies are great at branding. The biggest financial firms in this country have long dominated the industry. But what about the independent offices in this country? When do the "grassroots" of the financial advisory industry get some love?
To rectify this oversight, WP is embarking on a new search: We're looking for the best-run, quality independent advisor office. Do you know who that is? What team is doing innovative work? What office is doing an amazing, efficient industry-leading work? We want to know. We're going to work up some profiles of the most impressive independent offices in Canada for our November issue. Send us your nomination and tell us why you think the named office is the best independent in the country.
Of course there will be debate about what is, or is not, an independent office. One ground rule for this survey: Offices nominated need to employ more than one person. There has to be two people working in the office to be considered (sorry single practitioners). It seems safe to say an advisor working in the branch of one of the big five Canadian banks does not count as an independent office. A fee-based advisor with their name on the door of the office would be. There is a large middle-ground between these poles, obviously. Let's hear the arguments for what is, what is not, an independent office and let's see the nominations submitted to, [email protected]
We can't wait to hear what the industry has to say on this!
