Shaw posts 24 per cent drop in profit

Quarterly profit dropped 24 per cent at Shaw Communications for its second quarter (to Feb 28).

Quarterly profit dropped 24 per cent at Shaw Communications for its second quarter (to Feb 28). A dip in the company’s video subscriptions pushed net income down to $168 million from $222 million a year earlier. Shaw’s satellite subscriptions fell by 8,254 while cable subscriptions dropped by 35,967. Despite that revenue was up almost 5 per cent to $1.34 billion.
