Canadian e-commerce firm Shopify has agreed a deal with Amazon to allow merchants to create their own online stores. Shares in the Ottawa-based firm surged 24 per cent on the news. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed but Amazon’s Webstore software users are being advised to move their stores to Shopify before the Webstore software is discontinued.
