TD Bank Group has appointed a new leader for its financial crime risk management team and the Canadian ETF Association has a new leader overseeing its day-to-day operations.

At TD,  Jacqueline (Jackie) Sanjuas becomes global head of financial crime risk management alongside her existing role as US Bank Secrecy Act Officer which has seen her spearhead the changes required to address AML failings that led to multi-billion-dollar fines from US regulators.

Sanjuas has more than twenty years of industry experience and joined TD last year following 19 years at Citi where she was most recently head of US financial crimes, BSA and chief compliance officer.  Based in New York, she succeeds Herb Mazariegos, senior vice president, Financial Crime Risk Management, who is leaving the bank.

Stephen Joyce, vice president, Financial Crime Risk Management, Transformation Delivery and Enablement, becomes interim head of Financial Crime Risk Management for TD's Canadian and International operations (non-US) reporting to Sanjuas.

I have full confidence that he will be a tireless advocate for the ETF industry and the benefits of ETFs for Canadian investors, at large,” said Ron Landry, Chair of CETFA’s Board of Directors. “With Eli and alongside our membership, CETFA will continue to support our industry’s expansion while championing sustainability and innovation.”
