New data from StatsCan show that spending in the tourism sector rose by 1.3 per cent in the third quarter of 2014. That’s the largest gain since 2010 and the sixth consecutive quarterly rise. Spending by Canadians at home was up 1.1 per cent while foreign tourists contributed an extra 1.7 per cent.
