Advisors and investors across Canada continue to embrace ETFs and the benefits of low-cost, high-quality investments. In addition, as advisors continue to shift to a fee-based platform (one estimate suggests 35% of advisors are using, at least in part, the fee-based model), sales of ETFs are skyrocketing. Actually, sales are up over 400% year-over-year, according to March figures. In this hot new sector, the stakes are huge, and the competition fierce. Vanguard is killing it – and managing director Atul Tiwari is one of the reasons. Atul established BMO's ETF business and was hired to lead Vanguard into Canada. Vanguard Canada offers 21 ETFs and has raised over $5 billion in assets under management in just 3 1/2 years (as of May 15, 2015).
