Horizons ETFs
Horizons ETFs is best known for its advances in cannabis investing – the company’s latest effort, a US-focused cannabis ETF, amassed more than $20 million in assets in just a week after its April launch. Since industry vet Steve Hawkins took the helm at Horizons, he has helped grow its AUM to more than $10 billion across 86 funds.
Targeting unique asset classes is what Hawkins and Horizons have built their reputation on. “It’s difficult to compete with [banks and major investment companies] on plain vanilla offerings because they can use all of their resources to control the distribution network,” Hawkins told WPC earlier this year. “I feel there is a place for niche asset management companies. Having a different type of product has allowed us to grow and remain a key player in the ETF industry.”
