Partners Group opens infrastructure fund to Canadian accredited investors

Partners Group has announced that it will provide Canadian accredited investors access to Partners Group Next Generation Infrastructure via iCapital, a fintech platform for alternative investments in wealth management.

This option allows eligible Canadian investors to invest in the Partners Group NXGN Infrastructure Canada (Access Fund), managed by iCapital Network Canada Ltd., through iCapital’s alternative platform.

This Fund joins Partners Group’s series of evergreen investment funds, aimed at increasing private market access for individual investors. Partners Group has managed private markets evergreen funds since 2001, recently expanding these solutions across more asset classes.

The Fund requires a minimum investment of $25,000, allowing individual investors to invest in parallel with institutional investors under a pro rata allocation. Institutional investors, showing increased interest in evergreen solutions, can also access the Fund.

The Next Generation Infrastructure Fund will focus on:

  • Risk-adjusted returns in a portfolio of global infrastructure investments
  • Value-add and core-plus infrastructure, emphasizing direct investments and secondary investments
  • Capital-intensive businesses with contracted, regulated, or recurring cash flows, strong market positions, and high entry barriers

Partners Group, with over 15 years in infrastructure investing, currently manages US$149bn in total assets, including more than US$26bn in infrastructure assets globally. Its evergreen products alone account for US$45bn, up from US$7bn in 2014.

As of June 30, 2024, evergreen programs represent 30 percent of the firm’s total assets. Among these programs is Partners Group’s first U.S. private equity evergreen fund, launched under the 1940 Act in 2009, which now manages approximately US$16bn in net asset value.
