Discover how Hamilton ETFs achieved remarkable growth and recognition at the 2024 WP Awards
In this edition of WPTV, we sat down with Patrick Somerville and Jennifer Mersereau, Senior Partners and Co-Presidents of Hamilton ETFs, to discuss the firm’s impressive recognition as an Excellence Awardee for ETF Provider of the Year at the 10th Annual WP Awards. This honor reflects Hamilton ETFs' strong growth, innovative product launches, and commitment to serving investors with unique strategies.
Hamilton ETFs experienced a significant leap in 2023, starting the year with $1.8 billion in assets under management (AUM) and ending with $3.8 billion—over 100% growth. Somerville attributes this success to their suite of yield Maximizer ETFs, which use covered call strategies to help investors generate higher income. “We’ve built these strategies with an income-first approach, focusing on what investors need as demographics shift toward higher demand for monthly income,” Somerville explained.
Mersereau highlighted the team’s role in driving this growth. “Our team is exceptional. We’ve expanded significantly, and it’s been a total team effort. Everyone contributes, from the creation of innovative strategies to building relationships with advisors. We’re proud of the collaborative culture we’ve built here,” she said.
As market conditions evolve, Hamilton ETFs remains agile. They became the first firm to launch a fixed income covered call ETF, H Bond, capitalizing on bond market volatility. “The shift to quantitative tightening gave us the opportunity to offer a new kind of solution to investors,” said Somerville. “It’s this ability to innovate in response to the market that’s been key to our continued growth.”
Looking ahead, the team at Hamilton ETFs is committed to maintaining close relationships with advisors and educating them on their products. “We’re not just launching products for the sake of it,” said Mersereau. “We’re listening to advisors and ensuring our solutions meet their needs.”
