Celebrating more than a decade, the WP Awards honour individuals, teams, and firms setting industry standards
Starting November 12, Wealth Professional is officially accepting nominations for the 2025 Wealth Professional Awards.
The nomination period will run until February 7, 2025, providing an opportunity to recognize top talent in the financial services industry.
The WPA serves as a platform to honor excellence in the wealth management sector, highlighting financial advisors, wealth management firms, advisory teams, and industry innovators.
Nominations will be evaluated through a rigorous selection process, with winners chosen by an independent panel of judges based on professionalism, innovation, and impact in the field.
The 2025 awards gala will take place on June 5 at the Liberty Grand in Toronto, where outstanding individuals and teams will be celebrated for their contributions to advancing the financial services industry in Canada.
This year’s awards recognize achievements across various categories, including rising stars, seasoned professionals, wealth management firms, and innovation leaders.

The WPAs are known for highlighting industry leaders who set high standards in wealth management. For instance, Wellington-Altus Private Wealth has been a prominent example of a firm driven by innovation and proactive governance.
CEO Shaun Hauser emphasizes the value of transparent communication with their board and the importance of technological advancements.
“Our board doesn’t like surprises and as an executive committee, we don't like surprises. We choose to overcommunicate and that has proven to be very beneficial, as the management team gains a lot of wisdom from the board. And in turn, the board is lock in step with the management team.”
Another rising talent recognized in past awards is Aaron Menon of Howe Harrell & Associates. Known for his work with high-earning millennials and the children of legacy clients, Menon takes a proactive approach to client relationships, often asking satisfied clients for referrals to expand his reach.
“I’ve never been shy to ask a client, who I’ve helped, if one of their colleagues would enlist my services,” he shares. “I try to position myself as the quarterback of my client’s financial life. I meet with them and their accountants on a regular basis and having that team working toward a common goal is so valuable.”
WP would like to extend gratitude to this year’s award sponsors:
- Avenue Living
- Equiton
- ICM Asset Management
- IFSE
- PPI
- Trez Capital
Their support makes the WPA event possible and reinforces their commitment to fostering excellence within the financial services community.
