Raymond James Ltd., the Canadian arm of Raymond James Financial Inc., has announced an agreement to partner with Rugby Canada, focusing on the women's competitive program.
This partnership includes serving as the presenting sponsor of Canada’s U20 Women’s Rugby Team. Raymond James aims to support the development of women’s rugby and the national team’s pathway programs as they work towards the next Rugby World Cup.
The decision to sponsor Rugby Canada aligns with Raymond James’ core values of integrity, long-term thinking, and community dedication.
A central component of the sponsorship involves supporting talent development and providing training environments that assist athletes in achieving their goals both in sports and education.
Raymond James hopes to inspire the next generation of female financial advisors, some of whom may choose careers in finance after their athletic endeavours.
Jamie Coulter, CEO of Raymond James Ltd., expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the recent success of Rugby Canada’s women’s teams.
“Rugby Canada’s U20 Women’s Team won the Transatlantic Quad Series, and Canada’s Women’s Sevens Team secured a historic silver medal at the Olympics—our best performance ever in rugby sevens,” said Coulter.
“We are excited about this partnership and the chance to support these champions and future generations of players.”
Nathan Bombrys, CEO of Rugby Canada, welcomed Raymond James’ support, emphasizing its impact on the women’s teams and age-grade programs.
“Their involvement will directly contribute to our teams’ success on the field and the growth of our players off the field,” said Bombrys.
