Starting November 12, Wealth Professional began accepting nominations for the 2025 Wealth Professional Awards. The nomination period will remain open until February 7, 2025, providing an opportunity to recognize outstanding talent in the wealth management sector.
The WPAs highlight excellence across financial advisors, wealth management firms, advisory teams, and industry innovators.
Winners will be chosen through a rigorous selection process conducted by an independent panel of judges, with evaluations based on professionalism, innovation, and impact in the field.
The 2025 awards gala is set for June 5 at Toronto's Liberty Grand, where exceptional individuals and teams will be celebrated for advancing the financial services industry in Canada.
This year’s categories include recognition for rising stars, seasoned professionals, wealth management firms, and leaders in innovation.
Maili Wong was a standout winner at the 2024 WP Awards. The senior wealth advisor and senior portfolio manager at Wellington-Altus Private Wealth Inc. won the Avenue Living Award for Portfolio/Discretionary Manager of the Year and the Equiton Award for Canadian Advisor of the Year.
Wong attributed her success to years of dedication to enhancing the client experience. She emphasized the importance of discipline in her daily operations, from team huddles at 8 am to continuous operational improvements aimed at exceeding client expectations.
Her “smart risk approach” integrates quantitative, fundamental, and risk management lenses to meet diverse client goals.
Reflecting on her wins, Wong expressed gratitude, stating the awards validate her team’s unwavering commitment to raising the bar for client well-being. “When clients win, we all win,” she noted.
