Celebrity status often brings influence—but for many Canadian stars, it also brings business acumen.
While known globally for music, film, and entertainment, these 10 celebrities have diversified into investments and entrepreneurship across Canada and beyond.
From cannabis ventures to mobile services and tech startups, here's a look at the top names with Canadian investment ties.
1. Ryan Reynolds
Reynolds has established a significant presence in the business world. His investment in Mint Mobile led to its acquisition by T-Mobile for US$1.35bn.
Additionally, he backed Canadian fintech company Nuvei, which was acquired by Advent International in a US$6.3bn deal.
Reynolds also holds stakes in Canadian companies Wealthsimple and 1Password, and co-founded Maximum Effort, a production and marketing agency.
2. Drake
Drake's investment portfolio includes a reported US$100m partnership with online crypto-gambling platform Stake. He has invested in Canadian tech company Wealthsimple and owns substantial real estate in Toronto.
Drake also joined the investment group for the Major League Pickleball team, Brooklyn Aces.
