Michelle Myers steps into the role as TD Bank announces key changes in its audit leadership team
TD Bank Group has announced the appointment of Michelle Myers as global chief auditor, effective December 9.
Myers joined TD in September 2022, as per her LinkedIn profile. Since joining TD, she has held several senior finance roles.
These include vice president of finance, deputy to the controller and chief accountant; vice president, controller and chief accountant; and most recently, senior vice president, controller and chief accountant.
Prior to joining TD, Myers spent 17 years at KPMG Canada, serving in various roles such as partner, senior audit manager, and senior manager in the Department of Professional Practice.
A chartered professional accountant, Myers brings expertise in audit, finance advisory, and corporate finance. Myers will report to Bharat Masrani, group president and CEO, and to the TD Bank Group Audit Committee. Myers will also join the Senior Executive Team.
Myers will succeed Anita O'Dell, senior vice president and global chief auditor and interim US chief auditor, who has announced plans to retire. O'Dell will continue in an advisory role until May 31, 2025.
O'Dell joined TD in 2010 and has held positions including global chief auditor, us chief auditor, and deputy us chief auditor.
O'Dell has also been an advocate for diversity and inclusion, serving as chair of the Corporate Women in Leadership committee in the US and co-chair in Canada.
Keith Lam, deputy US chief auditor, will assume the role of acting US chief auditor. Lam will report to Myers and the US Audit Committees while joining TD’s US Management Committee.
With more than 20 years of experience in internal audit, public accounting, and technology, Lam has expertise spanning retail, commercial, and wholesale banking, as well as technology, data, risk, and capital.
